Therapy

No one person is the same and no single form of therapy is suited to everyone. I undertake assessments of my client’s needs so that I can adapt my psychological models to support them through the right therapy.

Therefore our first meeting is an informal consultation at my office or via telephone (15min free). This is mainly to get to know you, understand your present situation and determine the right approach for you. Then together we prepare tailored sessions to optimise your wellbeing.

Most importantly, this is also to allow you to determine if you feel comfortable working with me – that is really important.

Counselling will help you to identify and explore the underlying issues and emotional patterns which are creating your current difficulties. I will offer you confidential, non-judgemental support and insights, and also challenge you to think about your situation. Through this process you can develop the understanding and confidence to make new choices in your life and move on.

Psychotherapy helps people with psychological problems that may have built up over the course of a long period of time. It will help you to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviour more clearly. It is process of treatment that identifies emotional issues and the background to problems and difficulties in the here and now.
